14. Mortimer Terrace
Mortimer Terrace, like many of the properties in the Racks beside it, was a rental property. By 1914, it had been bought by Mr Browning who lived at Storks, Ombersley. There are three houses in the terrace, and in the 1911 census the property is not clearly identified. It has therefore been impossible to establish which family was resident in which house at that time. Fortunately, there is a complete Finance Act return for the Terrace, dated October 1914, which names the three families renting the houses at the time: Wigley, Griffiths and Smith. It has been difficult to identify the tenants.
